I found it very helpful in clearing up my understand of S&OP vs Forecasting -- Volume vs Mix. The case studies were excellent and very useful. Thanks for getting the companies to share their best practices.

The various companies discussed were interesting and their success is admirable. The common thread of success appears to me to be the communication and attention to detail by upper management to what is driving the business.....the sales activity and forecast! Involving the customer into your business with today’s electronic activity reports is "good stuff.

I find it interesting to observe the different companies’ approaches to sales, customer service, inventory control and personnel, the level of success in each of these categories is amazing.

This S&OP book reveals the consistent requirement of senior leadership and  their disciplined management teams to involve the daily activity of the consumer/customer in their production/supply operations. The roadmap is provided if you wish to have a successful journey.

I think Part 3 - the companies - is absolutely superb. Its concise and well written - easy to follow format and layout.

These 13 companies have invested many years of effort in implementing and operating S&OP. That's an enormous wealth of experience - and it's available to you in this book....." and ".. if you are in the market for S&OP, read this 'consumer report' first.."

I found the wide diversity of S&OP methods for different manufacturing strategies, i.e., Make-to-Stock through Engineer-to-Order, very useful to stimulate specific ideas for different environments. Furthermore, the writing style made the book appropriate for any experience level of reader. Even experienced practitioners and consultants need to step back occasionally from the trees to see the forest. Yet, the newcomer to S&OP will find the combination of general educational material and company case studies a sound beginning to the S&OP journey.

It's a great book... more like an S&OP monument when you look at all the specifics that it contains.  Hard-nosed stuff,  tough to beat.

Good job of mixing concepts, with specific actions, benefits and quotes to support them.....

I can't see how any company wouldn't want to successfully do S&OP after reading this book.

The tangible benefits achieved by these 13 companies, clearly demonstrates the value of a well managed S&OP process, and makes it very evident that the S&OP process is a mandatory , not a "might do" activity.

An excellent primer for the executive group to get excited about implementing a S&OP process in their company.  All executives should read this book and then evaluate their company's S&OP process vs the 13 companies listed in the book

This book clearly explains and defuses the terminology confusion that surrounds the standard S&OP process.

The quotes from executives participating in the S&OP process are an excellent testimonial of what can be expected from the S&OP process especially communications, involvement, ownership, and delegation of responsibility and authority.”
